What We Are All About

The Chippewa Valley Sustainability Fair is a multi day fair that includes a number of anchor events throughout Earth Week. The theme for the fair is action, in which we will be offering programming that engages community members and provides opportunities to take action in helping to address the challenges that face mankind and the world.

Our Anchor Events

Youth STEAM Fair-April 15th

Full STEAM Ahead!!!

One of Earth week's premier anchor events is the Youth STEAM Fair, which will be held at the Lismore in downtown Eau Claire. Expect to see area middle school students presenting projects in all areas of STEAM as well as focusing on the themes of Earth Day such as: sustainability, air and water quality, human-environment interaction, waste management, and many more. 

The event is open to the public and free to all attendees. Join us in celebrating and supporting this watershed moment in the lives of future engineers, scientists, and other aspiring professionals who will help shape our future world.

Jam It For The Planet-April 21st

Get ready to Jam at the 4th annual Jam It For The Planet, Saturday April 21st in downtown Eau Claire! Come for the great music and stay for the cause!

Celebrating Women Leaders: Jam It For The Planet series celebrates mother nature as well as women leaders by showcasing the gifts, talents, and abilities of area women. Expect to see women leaders performing on stage, sharing in discussions, and leading learning opportunities

Fun For Everyone: The event features family programing including a Kids Interactive music show, an Earth Day super hero meet and greet, a kids creation station, and much more.

Music Excellence: Get Your Jam On! The Jam It series has historically featured a great lineup of musicians performing for Planet Earth!

March For Science- Eau Claire

Join local citizens in marching to support science throughout our community, march participants will gather to march to listen to engaging guest speakers and demonstrate our community’s commitment to science.  Marchers are encouraged to create signs and join us as we gather the Sunday before Earth Day!

Week Without Waste (WOW)-April 16th-20th

What better timing than having WOW occur in conjunction with Earth Week?! Residents all throughout Eau Claire County will pledge to not create any landfill destined waste during their curbside garbage collection for an entire week.

Organizing Workshop: Turning Passion into Action

Description: Earth Week is a week of passion! We spend the week learning about and appreciating the environment and empowering each other to take action in any way we can. Learn how to take effective action here. Turn passion into action with Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters and Citizens Climate Lobby, two organizations that have tried and true strategies for making real change.

2017 Legislative Year In Review

2017 was a historic year in so many ways. Join Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters, Citizens Climate Lobby, the City of Eau Claire, and student organizations for a review of 2017 conservation policy on the federal, state, local and campus level. Join us for this Chippewa Valley 

Sustainability Fair Earth Week event at the Plus for a discussion on the ‘good, the bad, and the ugly.’ The ‘good’ will inspire and empower you. The ‘bad and the ugly’ will give you a reason to act. Local environmental advocacy organizations will be available to connect you with resources on how to get active to join the movement to protect our earth.
